Abstract:

ONE OF THE IMPORTANT RESEARCH FIELDS RELATED TO COASTS IS THE STUDY OF DREDGED CHANNELS CONDITION IN SEABED. THE GOOD EXAMPLES ARE DUG-OUT CHANNELS FOR OIL AND GAS TRANSPORT VIA SEABED. THE CHANNELS SITUATIONS, WIDTH AND DEPTH ARE THE DEFINING FACTORS IN DESIGNING CHANNELS. THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR DEFINING THE CHANNEL CONDITION IS THE SEDIMENTATION MODE. KNOWING MORE ABOUT THE CONDITION OF SEDIMENT TRANSPORT AROUND AND INSIDE CHANNELS, HELPS DESIGNERS IN DESIGNING THE CROSS-SECTION AND LOCATING WHICH SUPPORTS AUTHORITIES IN PRESENTING DREDGING PROGRAMS FOR PRESERVING THESE CHANNELS. FOR NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF SEDIMENTATION MODE IN DREDGED CHANNELS, FIRST, A MODEL SHOULD BE SELECTED AND APPLIED WHICH HAS CAPABILITY OF ANTICIPATING FLOW FIELD IN DREDGED CHANNELS. IN THE PRESENT ARTICLE, A MODEL IS USED WHICH IS ABLE TO SOLVE THE EQUATIONS OF FIXED CURRENT IN TWO DIMENSIONAL MODE IN NON-ORTHOGONAL CURVE LINE COORDINATE SYSTEM USING THE FINITE VOLUME AND THE K-E MODEL FOR MODELING FLOW FIELD TURBULENCE. THE FLOW FIELD IS SIMULATED IN DREDGED CHANNELS. IT SHOULD ALSO BE MENTIONED THAT, CONSIDERING THE HIGH ACCURACY OF SOU MODEL COMPARED WITH POW MODEL AND THE HIGH FALSE SPREADING OF 1ST TIME PATTERNS, THE SOU DISPLACEMENT PATTERN IS APPLIED FOR SIMULATION.

Abstract:

Every year in Iranian ports dredging is spending a considerable sum. Correct assessment of DREDGED material and ensuring that the dredging was done in the desired location is important. This article seeks to provide a way to assess the volume of DREDGED material that has conditions: (1) have adequate theoretical basis, (2) by the host, supervisor and employer independently applicable, (3) repeated so that in the event of a dispute between performer and observer, is done by a third party, (4) can be a single procedure in the PMO and Ports introduced, (5) it can be used to estimate the exact volume Before performing dredging operations used and (6) of the existing technologies used and its implementation does not impose costly. The main idea of this paper is to provide a method for processing hydrography data to estimate the volume of dredging operations and possibly to insert it in the (RFP) and then measuring it during operations or after it. For this, using mathematical triangulation Delaney three bed early, simulated surface and the seabed DREDGED and the difference between the first substrate and the estimated volume of operations and of different simulated first bed and the bed was DREDGED, the volume of operations carried out by the has come.

Abstract:

Iranian ports spent a considerable sum on dredging each year. It is of a great importance to evaluate the DREDGED material volumes and to ensure that dredging was done on required place. This paper tries to provide a method for assessment of the volume of DREDGED material which satisfies the following conditions:The theoretical background should be acceptable.Independently applicable by the contractor, supervisor and the port authority.Repeatable, so could be done by a third party, in case of disagreement between the contractor and the supervisor.Has the potential to be announced as the unique procedure in the PMO and all commercial ports. It could be used to estimate the fairly accurate volume of the dredging material before the operation.Use the existing technologies and does not impose heavy costs. The main idea of this paper is to provide a method for processing the hydrography data to estimate the fairly accurate volume of the dredging material before the operation and to measure it during the operation or afterward. To accomplish this, by using Delaunay triangulation, three mathematical surfaces are shaped namely the original surface, the simulated surface and the DREDGED one.The figures are calculated by measuring the difference between the original and the simulated surfaces and the difference between the original and the DREDGED surfaces.

Abstract:

DREDGED soils are obtained from capital dredging (resulting from the construction of hydraulic structures) or maintenance dredging (from the maintenance of hydraulic structures). Due to the large volume, uselessness and low pollution of these soils, researchers are exploring using these materials as soil alternatives. Poor bearing capacity, fragmentation characteristic, and difficult behavior prediction, are some problems of carbonated soils. Also non-carbonated DREDGED soils often don’, t have proper technical characteristics. The Persian Gulf has coasts covered with carbonated sediments, also forced to dredge. Due to the great importance of this waterway in the world economy and energy supply, as well as the problematic nature of its carbonated soil (for example, creating problems for oil extraction platforms),The Persian Gulf’, s carbonated soil, like DREDGED soil, needs to be improved. One of the most widely used soil improvement methods is stabilization. Besides the use of new materials (such as polymer and fiber), stabilization by cement and lime are still the most common stabilization methods for variety of soils. In addition to economic value, it will also be environmental and technical importance to consider the possibility of using it in engineering structures such as road bodies as base and subbase. Soil improvement is done in various additives and methods. Depending on the type of soil and materials in each area, the appropriate stabilization method varies, therefore, the same prescription for soil stabilization cannot be proposed. This paper focuses on carbonated and DREDGED soils, their stabilization methods, and reviews some practical experiences of stabilizing them.

Abstract:

IN THE PAST TWO DECADES, DREDGING INDUSTRY IN IRAN HAS UNDERGONE GREAT DEVELOPMENTS, SUCH AS AN INCREASE IN OPERATIONAL VOLUMES FROM 1 MILLION CUBIC METERS IN 1978 TO OVER 10 MILLION IN 1997. HOWEVER, THE ISSUE OF MANAGING THE DREDGED MATERIAL HAS NOT BEEN EXTENSIVELY CONSIDERED YET, ESPECIALLY FROM AN ENVIRONMENTAL ANGLE. FIGURES SHOW THAT 10 TO 25 PERCENT OF THE DREDGED MATERIALS AROUND THE WORLD INCLUDE ORGANIC MATERIALS SUCH AS PETROLEUM DERIVATIONS AND DIFFERENT TYPES OF HYDROCARBURES, AS WELL AS MINERALS LIKE HEAVY METALS. THERE IS LITTLE INFORMATION AVAILABLE IN THIS RESPECT IN IRAN, YET SOME SAMPLINGS MADE IN THE PORTS OF NOSHAHR AND IMAM KAMEINI DEPICTED SIMILAR SIGHTINGS IN THE DREDGED MATERIALS. THIS PAPER CONSIDERS METHODS LIKE SOLIDIFICATION AND STABILIZATION FOR NON-POLLUTING DREDGED MATERIALS AND DECONTAMINATION FOR THE POLLUTING ONES, CONCLUDING BY MENTIONING THE MATERIALS PRESENT IN THE DREDGING AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL FEATURES OF THE IRANIAN COASTS THAT DETERMINE SUITABLE MANAGEMENT METHODS.

INTRODUCTIONVARIOUS PORT-RELATED AND PORT-DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES POTENTIALLY AFFECT ENVIRONMENTAL AND HUMAN RESOURCES. MAINLY INTERTIDAL SHORES WITH HIGH ENVIRONMENTAL VALUES AND BIODIVERSITY ARE SELECTED FOR BUILDING PORTS. MOREOVER, PORTS REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION OF DEEPER AND MORE EXTENSIVE CHANNELS AND BASINS TO DEPLOY NEW EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATIONS SO THAT THEY CAN PROVIDE THE TRANSPORTATION AND ACCOMMODATE LARGE SHIPS. MOREOVER, THESE CHANNELS MUST BE CONSECUTIVELY DREDGED, WHICH WILL CAUSE FUNDAMENTAL CHANGES IN THE INTERTIDAL ZONE AND THE…

Abstract:

Regarding to this fact that the port of Immam khomeini is one of the biggest ports of Iran and considering the high amount of sedimentation in the docks of this port in addition to being in the vicinity of Mosa estuary ecosystem, a research has been conducted during (2010-2011) and the environmental risks due to dredging operation of the docks of Immam Khomeini port, have been identified, ranked and evaluated. For this proposed, first the elements creating the hazards risks of the dredging operation have been identified by using Delphi questionnaire and to be completed by Experts and afterwards for determining the feasibility of risk occurrence Expert Choice software and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) has been used. For determinations of risk intensity and probability of discovery of each risk and also the risk numbers, the method of breaking risk factors has been applied. In accordance with the results obtained, in the dredging operation which has been performed in the physical and chemical environment, the following risks can be occur as the most important risks: The morphological alteration and disruption in the river bed, respectively, 12.4-6.39. The disruption of the biological environment of the bed habitat and destruction of the benthic species, respectively, 10.8-3.32. The effect of the socio‐economic environment on injuries and member amputation, respectively 5.07-2.53. The most important human risks in dredging operation are increasing turbidity by 6.08 Unit and reduction in fisheries by 12.05.
